  Progress at Karen Cragnolin Park

Silt in stream

We are making great progress at Karen Cragnolin Park - the former EDACO junkyard. We anticipate that all the concrete will be off the site -  100% recycled by the end of January. Then we can start our Phase II testing under the EPA Brownfield Program!  Watch this space!

Community Drought Forum

Join RiverLink for a community forum focusing on the 'exceptional' drought (the most severe level) in the French Broad River watershed. Speakers from Duke University, Altamont Environmental, the NC Wildlife Resources Commission, and RiverLink will cover various aspects of the drought including groundwater, economic impact, the role of stormwater management and low impact development.  "In order to get through this drought and to sustain our increasing population we must move towards a more water and energy efficient economy," said Bill Holman, senior fellow at Duke's Nicholas Institute and keynote speaker at the forum.

The forum will take place on February 22 at 8am at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College's Ferguson Auditorium and will be followed by an optional tour of the North Carolina Arboretum's stormwater best management practices. The forum is free and open to the public, there will be a fee for the Arboretum tour... read more
