RiverLink's 2013 Summer Concert Series Is Right Around The Corner
You'll want to be a part of RiverLink's 2013 Summertime Concert Series!
The year 2012 saw RiverLink bring a lot of smiling faces to the banks
ofthe French Broad River. Part of ourmission is to create stewardship
of the river, and we do this by bringing people down to the riverfor good music, food, artsand crafts, beer, rafting, and more. Thisyear, we plan to do it even bigger with a six event summer concert series that will also serve as a fundraiser to help us revitalize the French Broad River and its tributaries as a place for everyone to live, work and play.
RiverMUSIC
Five Friday nights of live concerts by the French Broad River in the River Arts District of Asheville, NC. RiverLink has teamed up with Heira Productions to assemble a top-notch mix of quality national acts and local favorites.
Our 2012 lineup included up-and-coming national act Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds, local surf-rock trio The Krektones, The 42nd Street Jazz Band, andTheBlood Gypsies. We hosted Sirius B. in August (voted Asheville’s favorite band by the Mountain Xpress in 2012). We also had a great night of quality bluegrass with Asheville favorites Sanctum Sully, as well as Bobby Miller & theVirginiaDaredevils. We closed out the event season with the funk stylingsof The Fritz and Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band, and over 1,500 people came out to join us!
With the exception of one rained out event in July, each RiverMUSIC event drew 1,000 to 1,500 people to the RiverLink Sculpture and Performance Plaza. The 2013 Concert Series promises to be even bigger and better! RiverLink looks to bring popular regional-to-national tier bands to headline each RiverMUSIC event, and pair them up with highly regarded local acts as support.

RiverMUSIC will take place Friday May 24th, June 14th, July 12th, August 23rd and September 13th in 2013.
2013 Lineup Announced:

RiverFest
A Saturday afternoon of crafts, kid fun, a raft race, music and more! RiverFest is a little different from RiverMUSIC. RiverFest, entering its 14th year of existence in 2013, is catered towards families and outdoor enthusiasts. Craft vendors sell local handmade goods, there are kids parades and activities and the popular Anything That Floats raft parade also takes place that afternoon. The 2012 RiverFest drew over a thousand people to the French Broad River Park, a lush, wooded community park at the confluence of the Swannanoa and French Broad rivers. The event featured music from Nikki Talley, Mountain Feist and The Galen Kipar Project. This will be the 14th year of RiverFest! The 2013 RiverFest happens on Saturday, August 10th, 2013.
