Where: French Broad River Park, Amboy Rd, Asheville

When: Saturday August 13th, 2011, 1pm-7pm

What: Fun for the whole family!  Raft Race, music showcase competition featuring local bands, food, beer, kids parade & activities, games, vendors, artists and more!  Free to enter festival.

Why: Celebrate Western North Carolina's most under used asset---the French Broad River.

Who: RiverLink, 98.1 the River, and YOU!

Schedule of events:

11:00am “Anything that Floats” Raft Competition

Get your creative juices flowing.  It's time to start thinking about the "Anything that Floats" boat parade!  Pre-registration is required and is $20/boat or raft.  The registration deadline is August 10th.

1:15 pm Kid Parade

kids can decorate their bike, rollerskates, skateboard or walk (any non-motor means of transportation) and win prizes for most creative, funniest and cutest. Costumes and decorations encouraged!  Meet at the main stage starting at 1:00.

3:00 pm Cornhole Tournament

$5 per team of 2 people with proceeds going to RiverLink. Sign up at the cornhole area the day of the event.


6:00 pm Music Showcase and Other Performances

Live music including headlining act The Josh Philips Folk Festival

Parking:  Parking will be available in the grassy lot next to Curve Studios on Riverside Drive. Free shuttles will be available to/from French Broad River Park beginning at 11:00am till 7:00pm from this location.  Last shuttle to leave festival grounds at 7:00pm. Limited handicapped parking will be available at French Broad River Park.  Public parking will not be allowed at French Broad River Park.
